Please don’t screw yourself out of playing with one of the best communities I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. They didn’t try to swindle me out of my runes or gear, they were just kind enough to reach out via discord DM’s which prevented me from screwing myself over), build advice, runeword bases & so much more! They with everything! They will assist you with bosses you’re struggling with (whether it be with advice or coming into your game & helping you kill it), advise you on trading options(multiple times I’ve listed items for specific runes & someone direct messaged me to let me know I was asking to little for an item.
I promise you, the community will welcome you with open arms.
I fell in love with using discord to negotiate with other players trading high value runes, charms, uniques, etc. Even if you played online & didn’t want to party with other players, the trading community is an absolute blast. I would hate for you to progress through the story alone on all three difficulties just to find you wish you could play with people in the end game. Unfortunately, these quarks inherently come from experiencing & understanding the game mechanics for yourself. It can absolutely be disheartening at times especially when you enter nightmare & hell difficulty if you don’t know the quarks of the game. But for new players, the game is difficult. You’ll absolutely love it if you play solo or if you play with other people. If you want to learn about the game on your own & play through the story solo then do so. The community of D2R is fucking fantastic! Sure, you’ll run into some arrogant players sometimes but there are very few. It really does.ġ00% play online! Join a discord & get to know the community. It took me around 2 months with a fire sorc to build wealth enough for enigma, and further 2-3 months to complete a trapper. I can solo my maps, I can choose my tz, I can mod the game to give more monstrers. The reason for this, is I want to relax playing, and I want to play p7, and I enjoy the calm offline. And drop whatever runes the item sold for. When I need items that I haven't found, I look up recent trades again.
If the item has been traded within 14 days, I take the trade value and downgrade it 1 rune. When I find something valuable, I look up recent trades on traderie. I've modded the game to my liking, increasing stash and inventory size, still keeping charms to what you'd be able to online. NowI play offline, and in my very own way. Been an avid trader and all in all enjoyed most facets of the game. I've played online and offline for many years.
